A little about me

As of Fall 2020, I am an Assistant Professor in the Mathematics Department at Purdue University. Prior to joining Purdue's Mathematics Department, I was an RTG Assistant Adjunct Professor and PPFP Postdoctoral Fellow at UCLA from 2017 - 2020.

I completed my PhD in mathematics at the University of Iowa under the guidance of Professor Ionut Chifan. My research is in the classification of type II₁ factors arising from groups by way of Popa's deformation/rigidity theory.

Previously, I attended Pasadena City College and transferred to Cal Poly Pomona where I completed my BS and MS in Mathematics in 2012 under the mentorship of Professors John Rock and Robin Wilson.

I also edit and maintain Sorin Popa's W^*-News Blog which a deep dive into notable problems in the area of II₁ factors and more generally von Neumann algebras.
